Be the best smith in town, or its worst swordsman

Game · PCStage: Pre-alpha

An oil painting of a valley town at evening, its windows lit gold and woodsmoke rising. Tiny people are at work around it, in the grove, on the slope and by the pond.

An old-school online RPG where the players run the market. There are no classes: pick up the axe, the rod or the sword, and keep whichever you like best.

The rarest drops come half-finished, and only a smith can finish them. The smith is another player, and they’ll name their price.

Die, and you get up with everything you were carrying. The goblins think that’s unfair.

The valley you start in

Expect company.

  1. The town

Sell what you’ve gathered to someone who couldn’t be bothered.

  2. The oak grove

Every living tree can be chopped. The oaks have made their peace with it.

  3. Copper and tin on the slope

Dig out your first ore and smith it into something to hit goblins with.

  4. The fishing pond

Cast a line, think about nothing for a while, and call it training.

  5. The farm to the east

Your first fights are chickens and cows, and we’d start with the chickens.

  6. The goblin camp to the west

Goblins round a campfire, behind a palisade they built to keep you out. Bring friends.

  7. Beyond the valley

Wolves and skeletons roam out here, and they don’t stay behind a palisade.

An oil-painted map of a warm valley at golden hour: a small market town at its heart, with an oak grove, copper and tin rocks, a fishing pond, a farm and a goblin camp around it.
